Ep.30 — Jen & Ryan | When Love Meets the Work
For Jen and Ryan, life was full — a marriage, two beautiful young children, and a business they ran together. But beneath the surface, both felt the strain of trying to hold it all together.
When Jen came to Enfold in December 2024, it was a leap into the unknown — not just for herself, but for their entire family.
“I had all the excuses. Like I don’t have time…I’m barely holding it all together… And Ryan was like, ‘you absolutely have time’,” Jen recalls. “It was the longest I had ever had the kids without contact…It was huge for me — really stepping away.”
Her experience wasn’t something she could easily put into words. After returning home, she chose to let Ryan find his own understanding.
What Ryan noticed, though, was undeniable. “It wasn’t like I hadn’t seen Jen before…but it was like there was more of her there.”
Six months later, it was Ryan’s turn. Inspired by what he witnessed in Jen — and recognizing his own cycles of stress and habits to cope with the anxiety — he made the choice.
“I was in a spiral,” Ryan reflects. “And I got to a point where I actually had to stop and look at myself.”
His journey at Enfold became a turning point. “It was like this unboxing of the unknown,” Ryan describes. “All these things that were holding me back are gone.”
What’s changed for both of them now?
“There’s no reason not to be happy,” says Ryan. “We’re just here for each other, with fewer barriers.”
Jen adds, “We have this language now… a depth we didn’t have before. And what a gift that is at this time of our lives.”
For couples like Jen and Ryan, the journey to deeper connection often begins with a single brave step. Whether one of you is ready to begin or you’re both feeling called, this is an invitation to explore what’s possible. When we tend to ourselves, we create space for love to thrive.
Sometimes, the most powerful work we do is for each other.
Whether you’re in a relationship or walking your own path, Jen and Ryan’s story is a deeply human reminder: the work we do inside ourselves shapes how we show up for everything we love.
